We are looking for a Senior Estimator to join the National Estimating team based in Pyrmont, NSW. Reporting to the National Estimating Manager, as the Senior Estimator you will support the business in preparing cost plans/estimates and contribute to the preparation of tender packages, contract letting and any other commercial processes in the project lifecycle.

As the Senior Estimator, you will:

  • Prepare hard dollar tender estimates for new business opportunities;
  • Prepare feasibility, square metre and elemental cost plans, and price bills of quantities on potential business opportunities
  • Preparation and tender of selective trade packages to provide competitive bidding to all internal bids
  • Review designs and provide value engineering options
  • Review of designs and provide value engineering options
  • Review documents and formulate a letting schedule
  • Produce a comprehensive scope of works for each trade
  • Assist with the tender submission including the preparation of qualifications and exclusions to any tender, or deviation from any tender requirements.

As the ideal applicant you will be: 

  • Tertiary qualification in Building and Construction, Quantity Surveying or Project Management
  • Significant previous experience in an Estimating role
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Strong understanding of construction processes
  • Industrial experience will be considered highly advantageous   
  • Good commercial acumen and analytical thinking
