We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join the team in Finance Team based in Cremorne, VIC. Reporting to the Finance Manager as the Financial Accountant you will support the accounting needs of the Company through effective reporting, ensuring compliance standards, control and reconciliation of accounts, and the consolidation of financial statements.

 

As the Financial Accountant you will be responsible for:

  • Compliance – Ensuring adherence to financial regulations, general ledger accuracy, and tax transactions.
  • Financial Control & Reconciliation – Managing balance sheets, profit and loss reconciliation, and bank account oversight.
  • Financial Reporting – Supporting management with internal and external financial reports, cash flow analysis, and budgeting.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight – Ensuring accurate cost allocation and variance analysis.
  • Support for Budgeting & Audits – Assisting in budget preparation and external compliance reporting.

 

As the ideal applicant you will be:

  • Tertiary qualified in commerce, business, accounting, finance or related discipline combined with a CA or CPA certification
  • Construction industry experienced with a project accounting, finance accounting or contracts administration focus.
    • Experience with Industrial construction will be considered advantageous but not essential
  • Proficient with Excel, financial modelling and financial reporting
  • Familiar with ERP packages (SAP, JD Edwards, Coins, etc)
  • An effective communicator and relationship builder
  • Strong analytical thinking and commercial acumen
